ON APRIL 15, 2025, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 490, AS AMENDED.

AMENDMENT #1 rewrites this bill to prohibit the disqualification or removal of
a municipal judge who was duly elected or a
ppointed to office prior to March 7, 2025, and who is qualified for such office under the laws and interpretations in effect at the time of such election or appointment, due to a residency requirement during the term of office to which the municipal judge

was elected or appointed.

24; Title 25; Title 26; Title 27; Title 28 and Title 29,
relative to courts.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:
SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 16-21-111(c), is amended by adding
the following after the first sentence:
The report may be submitted in electronic format.
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
