ON MARCH 24, 2025, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 554, AS AMENDED.

AMENDMENT #1 rewrites this bill to enact the "
Tennessee Physician Workforce Infor
mation Act
," which requires the department of health to do the following:

(1)
Contact qualified medical organizations in
Tennessee
and request information from such organizations
concerning the state of the physician workforce in Tennessee, as described
in the full text of this amendment;

(2)
Compile the information
collected
pursuant to
(1)
into a written report;

(3)
By
December 31, 2025,
s
ubmit a preliminary
report
and an update on the progress of the final report to the chair
person
of the health a
nd welfare committee of the senate and the chair
person
of the committee in the house of representatives having jurisdiction over health-related matters
; and

(4) By
December 31, 2026, submit the final report to the chair
persons identified in (3).

AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 4;
Title 49; Title 63 and Title 68, relative to health
care.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:
SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 63-1-108(c), is amended by deleting
the language "within thirty (30) days thereafter" and substituting "within sixty (60) days
thereafter".
SECTION 2. This act takes effect July 1, 2025, the public welfare requiring it.
