ON MARCH 26, 2025,
THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 713, AS AMENDED.

AMENDMENT #1 rewrites the bill to, instead, make the following revisions to present law:



Removes the provision that requires a high school to provide official recruiting representatives of the military forces of the state and the United States access to

the campus or to student directory information for the purpose of informing students of educational and career opportunities available in the military, if that high school is providing such access to persons or groups that make students aware of occupational or educational options.



Requires, instead, each public senior high school to provide official recruiting representatives of the military forces of this state and the United States access to the public senior high school (i) at least once a month during student lunch periods for the purpose of informing students of educational and career opportunities available in the military; and (ii) at least once every other month when school is in session to provide further information to students who have expressed interest.

ON APRIL 15, 2025, THE HOUSE SUBSTITUTED SENATE BILL 713 FOR HOUSE BILL 665, ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1, AND PASSED SENATE BILL 713, AS AMENDED.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:
SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-7-1310(i), is amended by deleting
the subsection.
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
