A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the amount of an expenditure that may be paid by an

emergency services district employee without board approval.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. Section 775.073(b), Health and Safety Code, is

amended to read as follows:

(b) The board by resolution may allow a district employee

who has executed a bond in an amount equal to the amount required

for the district treasurer to sign an instrument to disburse

district funds. An expenditure of more than

not be paid unless the expenditure is presented to the board and the

board approves the expenditure.

SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only

to a purchase made on or after the effective date of this Act. A

purchase made before the effective date of this Act is governed by

the law as it existed immediately before the effective date of this

Act, and that law is continued in effect for that purpose.

SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
