A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to notice to the Texas A&M Forest Service of a prescribed

burn to be conducted by the Parks and Wildlife Department.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. Section 11.354, Parks and Wildlife Code, is

amended by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:

(d)

The department shall provide notice to the Texas A&M

Forest Service of the department's intent to conduct a prescribed

burn not less than 30 days before the planned start date of the

prescribed burn.

The notice must include a request that the Texas

A&M Forest Service appropriately locate equipment to respond to a

fire in the event that the prescribed burn becomes uncontained.

SECTION 2. Section 11.354(d), Parks and Wildlife Code, as

added by this Act, applies only to a prescribed burn that the Parks

and Wildlife Department intends to conduct on or after the

effective date of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
