A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to a reliability plan for electric transmission service in

the Permian Basin.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. Section 39.167(a), Utilities Code, as added by

Chapter 892 (H.B. 5066), Acts of the 88th Legislature, Regular

Session, 2023, is amended to read as follows:

shall direct the independent organization certified under Section

39.151 for the ERCOT power region to develop a reliability plan

under Section 39.166 for the Permian Basin region
and update the

plan every five years
.

SECTION 2. Section 39.167(c), Utilities Code, as added by

Chapter 892 (H.B. 5066), Acts of the 88th Legislature, Regular

Session, 2023, is repealed.

SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
