A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to parking lots and parking garages adjacent or near to

certain county courthouses.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. Section 615.003(a), Local Government Code, is

amended to read as follows:

(a) A county with a population of
40,000
[
150,000
] or more

may construct, enlarge, equip, and operate a parking lot or parking

garage adjacent to or near the county courthouse.

SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
