A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the definition of an emergency service provider for

purposes of critical incident stress management and crisis response

services.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. Section 784.001(5), Health and Safety Code, is

amended to read as follows:

(5) "Emergency service provider" means an individual

who provides emergency response services
or post-emergency

response services
, including
:

(A)
a law enforcement officer
;

(B) a
[
,
] firefighter
;

(C) an
[
,
] emergency medical services provider
;

(D) a
[
,
] dispatcher
;

(E) a
[
, or
] rescue service provider
;

(F)

an attorney, an investigator, or another

staff member for the office of a district attorney, criminal

district attorney, or county attorney; or

(G)

a justice of the peace or a staff member for a

justice court
.

SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
