A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to reimbursing employees of the Department of Family and

Protective Services for loss of or damage to personal property.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 40, Human Resources Code,

is amended by adding Section 40.084 to read as follows:

Sec.

40.084.

REIMBURSEMENT FOR LOST OR DAMAGED PERSONAL

PROPERTY. The department, using existing resources, may reimburse

a present or former employee of the department for loss of or damage

to personal property that occurs in the course and scope of the

employee's duties.

SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
