H.B. No. 4804

AN ACT

relating to the revocation of a driver's license or personal

identification certificate and to disqualification from operating

a commercial motor vehicle.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. Section 521.101(h), Transportation Code, is

amended to read as follows:

(h) The department shall automatically revoke each personal

identification certificate issued by the department to a person

who:

(1) is subject to the registration requirements of

Chapter 62
or 65
, Code of Criminal Procedure; and

(2) fails to apply to the department for renewal of the

personal identification certificate as required by Article 62.060
,

or 65.058,
Code of Criminal Procedure, as applicable.

SECTION 2. The heading to Section 521.348, Transportation

Code, is amended to read as follows:

Sec. 521.348. AUTOMATIC REVOCATION FOR CERTAIN SEX

OFFENDERS
AND TERRORISTS

SECTION 3. Section 521.348(a), Transportation Code, is

amended to read as follows:

(a) A driver's license is automatically revoked if the

holder of the license:

(1) is subject to the registration requirements of

Chapter 62
or 65
, Code of Criminal Procedure; and

(2) fails to apply to the department for renewal of the

license as required by Article 62.060
,

or
] 62.2021,
or 65.058,

Code of Criminal Procedure, as applicable.

SECTION 4. The following provisions of the Transportation

Code are repealed:

(1) Section 521.297(b); and

(2) Section 522.087(b).

SECTION 5. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
