A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the time period for municipal approval, conditional

approval, or disapproval of a plat.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. Section 212.009, Local Government Code, is

amended by adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows:

(a-1)

For the purpose of Subsection (a), a plat application

is considered filed on the day the applicant pays the first required

fee applicable to the application to the municipal authority

responsible for approving the plat.

SECTION 2. Section 212.009, Local Government Code, as

amended by this Act, applies only to a plat application filed on or

after the effective date of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives

a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as

provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this

Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this

Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
