A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to certain electronic documentation for the transfer of a

motor vehicle title.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. Section 501.174, Transportation Code, is amended

by adding Subsection (g) to read as follows:

(g)

If a document, including a secure document, is executed

with an electronic signature and electronically transmitted to the

department in accordance with the requirements of this section, the

department may not require as a condition of accepting the

document:

(1)

the electronic signature to be physically printed

or affixed upon the document; or

(2)

evidence of the stamped invalidation of a

superseded or invalidated title or certified copy of title.

SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives

a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as

provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this

Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this

Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
