A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the authority of a county to cancel subdivisions in the

extraterritorial jurisdiction of a municipality.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. Section 232.008(a), Local Government Code, is

amended to read as follows:

(a) This section applies only to real property located

outside
:

(1) a municipality;
[
municipalities
] and

(2)
the
area in the
extraterritorial jurisdiction of
a

municipality not subject to an agreement described by:

(A) Section 242.001(d)(2); or

(B)

Section 242.001(d)(3) that apportions the

area to a county
[
municipalities, as determined under Chapter 42
].

SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
