H.C.R. No. 147

HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of

mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Jim and Doris Stewart

of Lubbock celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on

May 2, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Stewart were joined in matrimony in

1975; over the years, they have been blessed with a treasured family

that includes their four children, as well as their eight

grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Longtime residents of Lubbock, Mr. Stewart has

worked as a police officer, as a reporter for Channel 13, and as a

radio personality on KFYO and KRFE, and Mrs. Stewart has devoted

herself to her home and family throughout their marriage; and

WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Stewart have enjoyed five decades of

abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an

exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting

commitment; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the 89th Legislature of the State of Texas

hereby congratulate Jim and Doris Stewart on their 50th wedding

anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued

happiness; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas

Legislature.
