H.C.R. No. 27

HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Honorable Leticia Dimas retired from the Lamesa

Municipal Court in October 2023, drawing to a close four decades of

distinguished service to the City of Lamesa; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Dimas began her career with the city in 1983,

and over the years, she served as a municipal court clerk, police

secretary, and translator; she also enjoyed a rewarding tenure in

communications at the Lamesa Police Department; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Dimas was later appointed to the position of

municipal court judge, and during her 20 years on the bench, she

presided over numerous cases involving misdemeanors such as traffic

violations, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, assaults, and

juvenile offenses; and

WHEREAS, Leticia Dimas's dedication, integrity, and

commitment to justice greatly benefited the citizens of Lamesa and

earned her the respect and admiration of her peers, and she may

indeed reflect with pride on her many years of service; now,

therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the 89th Legislature of the State of Texas

hereby congratulate Judge Leticia Dimas on her retirement from the

Lamesa Municipal Court and extend to her sincere best wishes for the

future; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for Judge Dimas as an expression of high regard by the

Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
