H.R. No. 1006
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Amanda Leu of Hunt Elementary School has been
nominated for the 2025 Plano Independent School District Elementary
Teacher of the Year award; and
WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to
become successful and productive adults, and those men and women
who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference
in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Leu graduated from Plano Senior High School
before going on to earn her undergraduate degree from the
University of North Texas; while in college, she volunteered with
Communities In Schools and worked as a literacy tutor for three
years; an educator since 2018, she currently teaches third grade;
and
WHEREAS, Amanda Leu exemplifies the passion, determination,
and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our best teachers,
and she has set a standard of excellence to which all in her
profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Amanda Leu on her nomination for
the 2025 Plano Independent School District Elementary Teacher of
the Year award and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
success with her important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Leu as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
