R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, The San Antonio Fire Department Investigation Unit

was named the 2025 Investigator of the Year by the International

Association of Arson Investigators on April 15; and

WHEREAS, Each year, the IAAI recognizes a firefighter or fire

unit that has demonstrated exceptional expertise in both the

criminal and civil fields of arson control; and

WHEREAS, Established in December 2020, the SAFD

Investigation Unit collects critical evidence and data at the scene

of a fire, and its in-depth analysis of how the blaze started often

provides information that can help with future fire prevention;

over the last four and a half years, the unit has investigated

nearly 2,000 fire incidents; and

WHEREAS, The members of the San Antonio Fire Department

Investigation Unit have earned the respect and admiration of their

peers through their unyielding commitment to protecting the lives

and property of their fellow citizens, and they are indeed

deserving of this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby congratulate the San Antonio Fire Department

Investigation Unit on being named the 2025 Investigator of the Year

by the International Association of Arson Investigators and extend

to its members sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it

further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for the unit as an expression of high regard by the Texas

House of Representatives.
