H.R. No. 1029

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Alexis Boehmer has distinguished herself in her

responsibilities as a legislative aide in the office of State

Representative Gene Wu during the 89th Legislative Session; and

WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Boehmer has provided

vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks,

including meeting with constituents and contributing to the

office's budgetary process, and she has also tracked legislation

and supported the representative's work on the Appropriations

Committee; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field

of public service, she has learned more about the legislative

process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and

WHEREAS, A Hobby Fellow, Ms. Boehmer is currently a senior at

the University of Houston, where she is a member of The Honors

College and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in psychology, and she

previously served as president of the campus mock trial

association; she has also held internships with the office of

Houston Vice Mayor Pro Tempore Martha Castex-Tatum, the Harris

County Public Defender's Office, and the Harris County Department

of Economic Equity and Opportunity; upon graduation, she intends to

continue her studies at The University of Texas at Austin School of

Law; and

WHEREAS, Alexis Boehmer has performed her duties as a

legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is indeed

deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore,

be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby commend Alexis Boehmer for her service as a

legislative aide in the office of State Representative Gene Wu and

extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her

endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for Ms. Boehmer as an expression of high regard by the

Texas House of Representatives.
