H.R. No. 1042

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Ariana Rodriguez has distinguished herself in her

responsibilities as a legislative aide and policy analyst in the

office of State Representative Gene Wu during the 89th Legislative

Session; and

WHEREAS, Since joining the staff as a fellow in the

Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program, Ms. Rodriguez has

provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging

tasks, including conducting legislative research, communicating

with constituents, preparing policy briefs and reports for the

representative, and monitoring committee hearings; in addition,

her work has focused on immigration issues and health and human

services policy; and

WHEREAS, A first generation scholar, Ms. Rodriguez is a

recent graduate of St. Edward's University, where she earned a

bachelor's degree in international affairs and was active in the

Monarchs On The Hilltop student organization; her previous

experience has included working as a Senate messenger at the Texas

Capitol and serving as an intern with the World Affairs Council of

Austin; and

WHEREAS, Ariana Rodriguez has performed her duties as a

legislative aide and policy analyst with skill and dedication, and

she is indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work;

now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby commend Ariana Rodriguez for her service as a

legislative aide and policy analyst in the office of State

Representative Gene Wu and extend to her sincere best wishes for

continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for Ms. Rodriguez as an expression of high regard by the

Texas House of Representatives.
