H.R. No. 1058

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, William Lawrence Coorsh of Houston, an esteemed

Texan and a friend to many, passed away on December 15, 2023, at the

age of 67; and

WHEREAS, The son of Harry and Anita Coorsh, Bill Coorsh was

born on March 9, 1956, and he grew up with the companionship of two

brothers, Thomas and Richard; he received a bachelor's degree in

industrial management from Purdue University and a master's degree

in business administration from the University of Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Coorsh enjoyed a rewarding career as an energy

trader, and he held senior executive positions at various energy

trading and marketing companies before taking on the role of

executive vice president of investor relations at Logista Advisors

LLC; and

WHEREAS, A dedicated champion for people with intellectual

and developmental disabilities, Mr. Coorsh served as a member and

as president of the board for The Center for Pursuit, which is

dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to reach

their full potential; in 2022, he was appointed by Governor Greg

Abbott to the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities; and

WHEREAS, Above all else, Mr. Coorsh was a loving and devoted

father to his daughter, Jodie; he drew strength from his deep faith,

and he was a source of inspiration to others in his religious

community; and

WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Bill Coorsh

will remember the way he touched their lives with his warmth and

compassion, and he will forever hold a treasured place in their

hearts; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of William Lawrence

Coorsh and extend heartfelt sympathy to his family and many

friends; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of

Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bill

Coorsh.
