H.R. No. 1090

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Anna Port has distinguished herself in her

responsibilities as a communications intern in the office of State

Representative Gene Wu during the 89th Legislative Session; and

WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Port has provided vital

assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, and she

has effectively communicated with constituents, allies, and

communities about Representative Wu's work; in addition to gaining

valuable experience in the field of public service, she has learned

more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens

of the Lone Star State; and

WHEREAS, An exceptional student who has made the dean's

honors list for all semesters, Ms. Port is graduating from The

University of Texas at Austin in May 2025 with a government degree;

since August 2024, she has led the undergraduate and graduate

Archer Alumni Ambassador program across all UT System campuses as

operations assistant for the Archer Center, and she is a writer for

the
Texas Undergraduate Law Journal
; moreover, she currently is a

congressional intern for the Stennis Center for Public Service in

Washington, D.C., and in 2024, she served as a press intern for

U.S. Senator Chris Coons and as a legislative intern for

U.S. Senator Tom Carper; and

WHEREAS, Anna Port has performed her duties as a

communications intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed

deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore,

be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby commend Anna Port for her service as a

communications intern in the office of State Representative Gene Wu

and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all

her endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for Ms. Port as an expression of high regard by the Texas

House of Representatives.
