H.R. No. 1099

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, A delegation of students from the Cobb Sixth Grade

Campus in the Galena Park Independent School District is visiting

the State Capitol on May 22, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Representing the best of their school, this

exceptional group includes members of the Cobb honor society and

student council; students qualify for the honor society based on

their grade point average as well as their character, leadership

ability, and commitment to service and good citizenship, and

student council representatives are selected by their peers to act

as a liaison between the student body and school administration and

to organize events, including fundraisers, dances, and spirit

weeks; participants in each group learn such important skills as

teamwork, communication, and problem-solving; and

WHEREAS, During their visit to the State Capitol, the

students will learn more about the legislative process and the

important role that citizens play in shaping public policy; this

year marks the 25th anniversary of Cobb Sixth Grade Campus

Legislative Day at the Capitol; and

WHEREAS, Through their involvement in the Cobb honor society

and student council, these fine young Texans are developing

knowledge and skills that will help them become successful,

productive citizens, and they are indeed worthy of special

recognition; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby recognize the members of the Cobb Sixth Grade

Campus honor society and student council on the occasion of their

visit to the State Capitol and extend to them sincere best wishes

for the future; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas

House of Representatives.
