H.R. No. 1123
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Marble Falls Rotary Club is celebrating the 75th
anniversary of its founding on May 15, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Rotary International operates more than 45,000
clubs across the globe, united by a shared commitment to use acts of
service to address such critical challenges as promoting peace,
fighting disease, and providing access to clean water; chartered as
Club No. 7521 on May 15, 1950, the establishment of the Marble
Falls Rotary was spearheaded by Jack Ashby, and J. P. Manley served
as its first president; the club was initially sponsored by the
Rotary Club of Austin, and in turn, it has expanded the Rotary
presence in the Hill Country by sponsoring new regional clubs; and
WHEREAS, Among its many community service projects, the
Marble Falls Rotary has supported local students by providing
scholarships for graduating seniors, hosting a career day, and
facilitating the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards program; it has
also provided Christmas gifts for nursing home residents, and it
funded a walk-in cooler and freezer for the local food bank; in
addition, the club hosts such events as a 9/11 Day of Remembrance
Ceremony and the annual Community Fish Fry and Raffle, a 75-year
tradition; and
WHEREAS, Throughout its history, the Marble Falls Rotary Club
has played a vital role in the betterment of its community, and the
organization is indeed worthy of recognition as it celebrates this
impressive milestone; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
Legislature hereby commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Marble
Falls Rotary Club and extend to its members sincere best wishes for
the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
