Welcoming the Leadership Dallas Class of 2025 to the State Capitol and commemorating the 50th anniversary of the program.

H.R. No. 1126

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Members of Leadership Dallas are visiting the State

Capitol on May 13, 2025, and this occasion provides a fitting

opportunity to recognize the 50th anniversary of this exemplary

program; and

WHEREAS, Responding to a need for local visionary and

service-oriented leaders, Leadership Dallas was founded in 1975 as

an initiative of the Dallas Chamber of Commerce, now known as the

Dallas Regional Chamber; over the course of 10 months, participants

meet at least once a month to examine topics critical to the

community, such as health care, public policy, economic

development, education, the arts, and the criminal justice system;

and

WHEREAS, Each year, the Leadership Dallas class is made up of

55 young businesspeople and entrepreneurs from diverse

backgrounds; since its inception, the program has provided training

in stewardship and civic responsibility to more than 2,300

participants, and many of these individuals have gone on to serve on

local boards and commissions; they also maintain connections and

stay up-to-date on the issues facing area residents through the

Leadership Dallas Alumni association; and

WHEREAS, For half a century, Leadership Dallas has made a

lasting, positive impact on its members as well as the wider

community, and all those associated with the program are indeed

deserving of special recognition for their outstanding

contributions; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby honor the members of Leadership Dallas Class of

2025 on the occasion of their visit to the State Capitol and

commemorate the 50th anniversary of the program; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas

House of Representatives.
