H.R. No. 1142

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at

the tragic loss of Jared Dale Hunt of Corpus Christi, who passed

away on July 15, 2024, at the age of 25; and

WHEREAS, The son of Lisa and Jeff Hunt, Jared Hunt was born on

September 7, 1998, and grew up with the companionship of his

brother, Carter; he began attending Grace United Methodist Church

during his youth and took part in the church's Sea City Work Camp

initiative, which repaired and renovated homes for those in need; a

2017 graduate of Calallen High School, he was voted

"Mr. Congeniality" by his classmates; he also distinguished

himself by raising several animals that earned champion and grand

champion honors at the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show, and he

became a strong supporter of the event as an adult; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Hunt graduated from Texas A&M University as a

proud member of the Class of 2022, and he considered his Aggie ring

and his bachelor's degree in agricultural business to be among his

greatest accomplishments; during his time at the university, he

joined Phi Delta Theta fraternity, and he was active in the group's

philanthropic efforts; his career journey ultimately led him back

to the Corpus Christi area, where he served as president of business

development for Devoted Healthcare and Hospice Services; and

WHEREAS, In his leisure time, Mr. Hunt enjoyed playing golf

and spending time outdoors, and his other interests included muscle

cars, music, and cheering on the Aggie football team; above all, he

cherished the time he spent with the members of his family and other

loved ones; and

WHEREAS, Although his days were far too few, the joy,

optimism, and radiance with which Jared Hunt lived his life will

forever comfort and inspire all who were fortunate enough to know

him; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Jared Dale Hunt and

extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his

parents, Jeff and Lisa Hunt; to his brother, Carter Hunt, his wife,

Emily, and their daughter, Haven; to his grandparents, Harry and

Gerry Carter; to his aunts, Jennifer Lieb and Jacque Hadamek and her

husband, Melvin; and to his other relatives and many friends; and,

be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of

Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jared Hunt.
