H.R. No. 1149

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Project BRAVO in El Paso is celebrating its 60th

anniversary in 2025; and

WHEREAS, Established in 1965, Project BRAVO serves as the

designated community action agency for El Paso County; under the

able leadership of executive director Laura Ponce, the nonprofit

works to improve the lives of local residents through education,

social services, and programs that promote self-sufficiency and

equity; and

WHEREAS, Project BRAVO oversees a variety of initiatives to

assist those in need; the organization's community services program

offers career guidance, utility assistance, and health care

resources to low-income individuals, and its weatherization and

housing programs aim to ensure that residents have access to safe

and affordable homes; and

WHEREAS, Over the past six decades, Project BRAVO has been an

invaluable resource for the citizens of El Paso County, and the

organization's enduring impact is indeed worthy of recognition;

now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby congratulate Project BRAVO on its 60th

anniversary and extend to all those affiliated with the

organization sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for Project BRAVO as an expression of high regard by the

Texas House of Representatives.
