H.R. No. 1150

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, The grand reopening of the Juanchido Elder Center in

El Paso in 2025 provides a fitting opportunity to recognize the

revitalized Ysleta del Sur Pueblo Tribal Elders Program; and

WHEREAS, The Juanchido Elder Center has long served to honor

and uplift the seniors of Ysleta del Sur Pueblo, a federally

recognized Native American tribe in the El Paso area; open to tribal

elders and their spouses age 55 and older, the center seeks to

combat isolation, promote social connection, and preserve YDSP

language and culture through a wide range of services and

activities, including wellness and health education programming,

social outings, traditional arts and crafts, and storytelling; and

WHEREAS, The Juanchido Elder Center has demonstrated a

steadfast commitment to empowering YDSP elders to lead active,

independent, and engaged lives, and the organization is indeed

deserving of recognition on this special occasion in its history;

now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby commemorate the grand reopening of the Juanchido

Elder Center and extend to all those associated with the Ysleta del

Sur Pueblo Tribal Elders Program sincere best wishes for the

future; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for the Juanchido Elder Center as an expression of high

regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
