H.R. No. 1159
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Isabella Olivas of El Dorado High School was named
an outstanding performer at the UIL State Mariachi Festival held in
Seguin from February 20 to 22, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Through her exemplary musical performance, Ms.
Olivas distinguished herself among hundreds of top-tier high school
musicians from across Texas; in recognition of her achievement, she
earned a draped state gold medal; and
WHEREAS, A lead violinist and vocalist in Mariachi Azteca,
Ms. Olivas has helped to elevate the ensemble's reputation,
inspiring younger members and building a strong sense of unity
within the group; and
WHEREAS, This talented young musician has demonstrated a
commitment to excellence through hard work and many hours of
practice, and she is a source of great pride for her fellow
students, her family, and her many supporters in the community;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Isabella Olivas on being named an
outstanding performer at the 2025 UIL State Mariachi Festival and
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Olivas as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
