R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Locally owned and operated businesses contribute to

the economic and cultural vitality of the Lone Star State, and Licon

Dairy is deserving of recognition for the positive role it plays in

the San Elizario community; and

WHEREAS, Founded in the 1950s, Licon Dairy began as a small

family business that operated through door-to-door sales, and over

the decades, it has grown into a thriving enterprise; known for its

variety of milk and Mexican-style cheeses, it has garnered

accolades from such outlets as KTSM News and the
El Paso Times
, as

well as from the Cities of El Paso and San Elizario; and

WHEREAS, Licon Dairy also serves as a community gathering

place, boasting a restaurant and hosting events; in addition,

visitors can interact with exotic animals and livestock at its

petting zoo; and

WHEREAS, In the course of more than 65 years, Licon Dairy has

gained a loyal following, and all those associated with the company

may take great pride in its achievements; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby recognize Licon Dairy and extend to its owners

and staff sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it

further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for the business as an expression of high regard by the

Texas House of Representatives.
