H.R. No. 1179

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Trinity Abigail Garcia of Americas High School in

the Socorro Independent School District has distinguished herself

in her responsibilities as a legislative intern in the office of

State Representative Mary E. González; and

WHEREAS, Over the course of her internship, Ms. Garcia has

provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging

tasks; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of

public service, she has learned more about the legislative process

and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and

WHEREAS, A senior at Americas High, Ms. Garcia is a member of

the Libertas Academy program for students interested in law,

government, and public administration; she has also held leadership

positions in the school's choir and flag team, and she has earned

great distinction at regional and state competitions; in addition,

she is a dedicated member of the World Affairs organization, which

fosters student awareness of global issues, and during her time as

the team captain, she led the group to win first place at the

district competition and earn a spot at the national competition in

Washington, D.C.; and

WHEREAS, Active in her community, Ms. Garcia has contributed

to the local food bank and shelters for the elderly; she has also

helped to care for stray animals on her school's campus through

donations and outreach; and

WHEREAS, Trinity Garcia has performed her duties as a

legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed

deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore,

be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby commend Trinity Abigail Garcia for her service

as a legislative intern in the office of State Representative Mary

E. González and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued

success in all her endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for Ms. Garcia as an expression of high regard by the Texas

House of Representatives.
