H.R. No. 1181
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Julius Perez of Americas High School in the Socorro
Independent School District has distinguished himself in his
responsibilities as a legislative intern in the office of State
Representative Mary E. González; and
WHEREAS, Over the course of his internship, Mr. Perez has
provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging
tasks; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of
public service, he has learned more about the legislative process
and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and
WHEREAS, As part of his internship, Mr. Perez helped draft
resolutions and memos and track policy developments, and he
volunteered with such organizations as El Pasoans Fighting Hunger
and the El Paso Villa Maria women's shelter; he has also
participated in the Libertas Academy program, which prepares
students who aspire to careers in government and public
administration or law; outside of his public and community service,
he has contributed to various school theater productions by
managing lighting, sound, and set construction; and
WHEREAS, Julius Perez has performed his duties as a
legislative intern with skill and dedication, and he is indeed
deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Julius Perez for his service as a
legislative intern in the office of State Representative
Mary E. González and extend to him sincere best wishes for
continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Perez as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
