H.R. No. 1182

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Judith Bujanda of Americas High School in the

Socorro Independent School District has distinguished herself in

her responsibilities as a legislative intern in the office of State

Representative Mary E. González; and

WHEREAS, Over the course of her internship, Ms. Bujanda has

provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging

tasks, which have included drafting official correspondence and

tracking current events; in addition to gaining valuable experience

in the field of public service, she has learned more about the

legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star

State; and

WHEREAS, A senior at Americas High School, Ms. Bujanda is a

member of its Libertas Academy program, through which she has

studied government and earned political science certifications;

she is further involved in her school as an intern in its library,

and she has also received recognition for her artistic exhibitions

at the Visual Arts Scholastic Event and the El Paso Community

College K-12 Art Exhibit; and

WHEREAS, Active in the larger El Paso community, she has

volunteered with such organizations as El Pasoans Fighting Hunger

and the El Paso Villa Maria women's shelter; upon graduation, she

intends to continue her education at The University of Texas at El

Paso, where she has been accepted into the prestigious Excellence

Scholarship Program; and

WHEREAS, Judith Bujanda has performed her duties as a

legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed

deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore,

be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby commend Judith Bujanda for her service as a

legislative intern in the office of State Representative Mary

E. González and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued

success in all her endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for Ms. Bujanda as an expression of high regard by the

Texas House of Representatives.
