H.R. No. 1183

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Nicole Zamora of Americas High School in the Socorro

Independent School District has distinguished herself in her

responsibilities as a legislative intern in the office of State

Representative Mary E. González; and

WHEREAS, Over the course of her internship, Ms. Zamora has

provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging

tasks, including helping to draft resolutions and memos and to

track and analyze local and global news; in addition to gaining

valuable experience in the field of public service, she has learned

more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens

of the Lone Star State; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Zamora has earned a place on the A honor roll at

her school, and she participates in the rigorous Americas High

School Libertas Academy; dedicated to her community and to helping

its most vulnerable residents, she has volunteered with such

organizations as El Pasoans Fighting Hunger and the El Paso Villa

Maria women's shelter; she aspires to major in psychology in

college with the goal of becoming a therapist; and

WHEREAS, Nicole Zamora has performed her duties as a

legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed

deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore,

be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby commend Nicole Zamora for her service as a

legislative intern in the office of State Representative Mary E.

González and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued

success in all her endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for Ms. Zamora as an expression of high regard by the Texas

House of Representatives.
