H.R. No. 1185
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Nicole Morales of Americas High School in the
Socorro Independent School District has distinguished herself in
her responsibilities as a legislative intern in the office of State
Representative Mary E. González; and
WHEREAS, Over the course of her internship, Ms. Morales has
provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging
tasks, which have included drafting official correspondence and
conducting research; in addition to gaining valuable experience in
the field of public service, she has learned more about the
legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star
State; and
WHEREAS, A senior at Americas High School, Ms. Morales
supports her peers and engages with a wide variety of academic
initiatives as an officer in the school's Advancement Via
Individual Determination program; moreover, she has developed a
passion for civic engagement and deepened her understanding of
political and legal systems through her involvement in the school's
Libertas Academy program; active in her community, she has also
volunteered with such commendable organizations as El Pasoans
Fighting Hunger and the El Paso Villa Maria women's shelter; and
WHEREAS, Nicole Morales has performed her duties as a
legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed
deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Nicole Morales for her service as a
legislative intern in the office of State Representative
Mary E. González and extend to her sincere best wishes for
continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Morales as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
