H.R. No. 1187

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Aleck Grendahl of Americas High School in the

Socorro Independent School District has distinguished himself in

his responsibilities as a legislative intern in the office of State

Representative Mary E. González; and

WHEREAS, Over the course of his internship, Mr. Grendahl has

provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging

tasks, including drafting memos and tracking and analyzing local

and international news; in addition to gaining valuable experience

in the field of public service, he has learned more about the

legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star

State; and

WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of El Paso, Mr. Grendahl is a

member of the Americas High band, where he has received several

awards for his contributions; he is committed to his community, and

over the years, he has volunteered with the El Pasoans Fighting

Hunger Food Bank and the El Paso Villa Maria women's shelter,

supporting efforts to uplift vulnerable populations; moreover, he

has donated his time to local animal shelters and participated in

food drives; and

WHEREAS, Aleck Grendahl has performed his duties as a

legislative intern with skill and dedication, and he is indeed

deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore,

be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby commend Aleck Grendahl for his service as a

legislative intern in the office of State Representative Mary E.

González and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued

success in all his endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for Mr. Grendahl as an expression of high regard by the

Texas House of Representatives.
