H.R. No. 1191

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Kaydenz Billingsley of Americas High School in the

Socorro Independent School District has distinguished herself in

her responsibilities as a legislative intern in the office of State

Representative Mary E. González; and

WHEREAS, Over the course of her internship, Ms. Billingsley

has provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of

challenging tasks; in addition to gaining valuable experience in

the field of public service, she has learned more about the

legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star

State; and

WHEREAS, Active in both the Gifted and Talented and AVID

programs at Americas High, Ms. Billingsley has excelled

academically, consistently earning Principal's Honor Awards and

placement on the A Honor Roll; she has further distinguished

herself by participating in speech and debate and serving as the

Libertas public relations officer and women's law officer; a

talented athlete, she has taken part in ice hockey and martial arts,

and she has worked at America's Best Karate for a number of years;

she has also given back to her community as a volunteer with El

Pasoans Fighting Hunger and El Paso Villa Maria and as a member of

Congresswoman Veronica Escobar's Congressional Youth Advisory

Council; and

WHEREAS, Kaydenz Billingsley has performed her duties as a

legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed

deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore,

be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby commend Kaydenz Billingsley for her service as a

legislative intern in the office of State Representative

Mary E. González and extend to her sincere best wishes for

continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for Ms. Billingsley as an expression of high regard by the

Texas House of Representatives.
