H.R. No. 1274
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, High school graduation is one of life's pivotal
milestones, and Emmy Cox is participating in that joyful occasion
with her graduation from Allen High School on May 23, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Cox can reflect with great pride on the
perseverance she has demonstrated in the pursuit of her goals
throughout her high school career; a recipient of the Academic
Excellence Award, she has managed a challenging course load that
includes numerous dual credit classes, and she has held various
leadership roles with the Allen chapter of the National Charity
League; she has further distinguished herself as a member of the
Allen High volleyball team, serving as captain and earning the
Fighting Heart Award during her sophomore and junior years; and
WHEREAS, Active in her community, Ms. Cox has contributed to
service initiatives sponsored by organizations such as Feed My
Starving Children, Operation Homefront, and Keep Allen Beautiful;
moreover, she has held jobs as a waitperson at Spazo Restaurant &
Bar, a volleyball referee for the Allen Sports Association, and a
clothing consultant at Apple Boulevard Boutique; following
graduation, she plans to attend Oklahoma State University and
pursue a degree in business; and
WHEREAS, Exciting challenges and opportunities await this
outstanding young Texan, and it is a pleasure to join her family and
friends in recognizing her as she embarks on a future bright with
promise; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Emmy Cox on her graduation from
Allen High School and extend to her sincere best wishes for
continued success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Cox as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
