H.R. No. 1277

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Illya Hicks II has distinguished himself in his

responsibilities as a legislative aide in the office of State

Representative Yvonne Davis during the 89th Legislative Session;

and

WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Hicks has provided

vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks;

in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public

service, he has learned more about the legislative process and the

issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and

WHEREAS, A political science major at Rice University,

Mr. Hicks completed his internship through the Frances Anne

Moody-Dahlberg Gateway Program, and he has previously interned with

the Odom Consulting Group; and

WHEREAS, Illya Hicks has performed his duties as a

legislative aide with skill and dedication, and he is indeed

deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore,

be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby commend Illya Hicks II for his service as a

legislative aide in the office of State Representative Yvonne Davis

and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in all

his endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for Mr. Hicks as an expression of high regard by the Texas

House of Representatives.
