H.R. No. 1299

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Lauren Wilson has ably served her fellow Texans as a

legislative aide in the office of State Representative Charles

Cunningham during the 89th Legislative Session; and

WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Wilson has provided

vital assistance in handling a wide variety of tasks, such as

conducting legislative research, corresponding with constituents,

and taking meetings; in addition to gaining valuable experience in

the field of public service, she has learned more about the

legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star

State; and

WHEREAS, The daughter of Timothy and Heather Wilson,

Ms. Wilson is a junior at The University of Texas at Austin, where

she is majoring in government with a minor in business and public

policy; she has further distinguished herself by serving as a Clark

Scholar with the UT Austin Center of Australian and New Zealand

Studies and by earning placement on the dean's list multiple times;

moreover, she has been actively involved in a number of

philanthropic organizations, among them Keep Austin Beautiful and

the Live Green in Plano Volunteer Program; after graduation, she

plans to attend law school and specialize in environmental and

natural resource law; and

WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her

duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is

indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now,

therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby commend Lauren Wilson for her service as a

legislative aide in the office of State Representative Charles

Cunningham and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued

success in all her endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for Ms. Wilson as an expression of high regard by the Texas

House of Representatives.
