H.R. No. 1300

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Cullen Watkins has distinguished himself in his

responsibilities as a legislative intern in the office of State

Representative Charles Cunningham during the 89th Legislative

Session; and

WHEREAS, Since joining the staff through the University of

Houston Hobby Fellows internship program, Mr. Watkins has provided

vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks;

in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public

service, he has learned more about the legislative process and the

issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and

WHEREAS, The son of Chad and Wendy Watkins, Mr. Watkins is

currently a junior at UH, where he is working toward a bachelor's

degree in public policy with a minor in entrepreneurship; he is

actively involved in his campus community as a member of the Young

Conservatives of Texas as well as Pi Alpha Alpha, the national honor

society for public affairs and administration; previously, he

interned with the Houston Mayor's Office of Public Safety and

Homeland Security; following his graduation, he plans to obtain an

MBA while pursuing a career in government and business; and

WHEREAS, Cullen Watkins has performed his duties as a

legislative intern with skill and dedication, and he is indeed

deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore,

be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby commend Cullen Watkins for his service as a

legislative intern in the office of State Representative Charles

Cunningham and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued

success in all his endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for Mr. Watkins as an expression of high regard by the

Texas House of Representatives.
