H.R. No. 1306

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Cayden Castaneda was selected to participate in the

Texas Tech Government and Public Service Internship Program, and

she has ably served her fellow Texans as an aide in the office of

Speaker Pro Tempore Joe Moody during the 89th Legislative Session;

and

WHEREAS, Since beginning her internship in Austin,

Ms. Castaneda has provided vital assistance in handling a wide

variety of challenging tasks such as meeting with stakeholders and

keeping them and staff members informed about the status of various

bills; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of

public service, she has learned more about the legislative process

and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; she has also

served as a congressional intern in Washington, D.C.; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Castaneda received an associate's degree from

South Texas College and expects to graduate in December 2025 with a

bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University; there, she has been a

student assistant for the School of Law and a member of the

Criminology Club and was named to the dean's list; she has also

served as a basketball coach with the Edcouch-Elsa Parks and

Recreation Department; and

WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her

duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is

indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now,

therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby commend Cayden Castaneda for her service as a

legislative aide in the office of Speaker Pro Tempore Joe Moody and

extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her

endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for Ms. Castaneda as an expression of high regard by the

Texas House of Representatives.
