H.R. No. 1400

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Charles Birk Wilkison has ably served his fellow

Texans as chief of staff in the office of State Representative

Jessica González during the 89th Legislature; and

WHEREAS, Since becoming a legislative employee, Birk

Wilkison has contributed to the workings of state government

firsthand; handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, he has

helped to shape and carry forth the representative's legislative

agenda in addition to providing vital leadership and ensuring the

efficient operation of the office; he previously served as

Representative González's chief of staff during the 87th

Legislative Session; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Wilkison holds a bachelor's degree in political

science and public administration from The University of Texas at

San Antonio; he has assisted with a number of political campaigns,

and he has also served as a deputy director of the Texas Democratic

Party and as a campaign director for the Y Strategy political

consulting firm; a dedicated member of the Democratic Party, he

frequently lends his time and expertise to other legislative

offices; and

WHEREAS, This esteemed public employee has performed his

duties as chief of staff with skill and dedication, and he is indeed

deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore,

be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby commend Charles Birk Wilkison for his service as

chief of staff in the office of State Representative Jessica

González and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued

success in all his endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for Mr. Wilkison as an expression of high regard by the

Texas House of Representatives.
