H.R. No. 1421
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The girls' soccer team from Randall High School in
Amarillo closed out a historic year by winning the 2025 University
Interscholastic League 4A Division 2 state championship; and
WHEREAS, The Lady Raiders' journey to the title began with an
impressive regular-season run in which they clinched the district
crown; Randall then surged through the playoffs, dispatching
Bridgeport, San Elizario, Benbrook, and Godley High Schools in the
first four rounds; a 1-0 shutout of Aubrey in the state semifinal
earned the Lady Raiders a place in the championship matchup; and
WHEREAS, On April 10, Randall took the field against
Wimberley High School in what proved to be an epic battle;
demonstrating their resilience, the Lady Raiders tied the game 1-1
with four minutes left in the first half and took a 2-1 lead in the
43rd minute; Wimberley knotted the score 2-2 near the end of
regulation, and the foes remained deadlocked through two overtime
periods; triumphing by a 7-6 count in the penalty kick shootout, the
Lady Raiders claimed the program's first state title in thrilling
fashion, finishing with an outstanding record of 23-5-1; and
WHEREAS, Championship game Most Valuable Player Kyndal
McClain was joined by Ryan McClain, Lyla Williams, and Brooke
French on the All-Tournament Team; the Lady Raiders also received
valuable contributions throughout their campaign from the other
members of the roster: Rionna Macias, Yareli Ramos, Reese Davis, AJ
Villanueva, Brooklyn Alstead, Kyleigh McHugh, Brinley Haden, Grace
Simpson, Jess Ledesma, Rylee Bailey, Aliya Cude, Brooklyn Hussey,
Jani Contreras, Ryann Davis, Camilla Diaz, Alex Lopez, Kaylie
Kashuba, Kambree Thurman, Faith Saavedra, and Kenzi Brown; these
dedicated athletes were guided by head coach Whitney Bernard and
assistant coaches Aspen Connally and Stacy Ferguson, and they
enjoyed additional support from managers Monissa Sherali, Yareli
Cervantez, Adrianna Avalos, Kayli Brown, and Kolbie Borden; and
WHEREAS, The Randall Lady Raiders' championship victory
represents the culmination of countless hours of hard work and an
unwavering commitment to excellence, and the players and their many
supporters in the local community will treasure the memory of this
accomplishment for years to come; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the Randall High School girls'
soccer team on winning the 2025 UIL 4A Division 2 state championship
and extend to the players, coaches, and staff sincere best wishes
for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
