H.R. No. 1447
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Emme Hocker has distinguished herself in her
responsibilities as a legislative intern in the office of State
Representative Joanne Shofner during the 89th Legislative Session;
and
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Hocker has provided
vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks;
in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public
service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the
issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of the Honorable Mark Hocker and
Heather Hocker, Ms. Hocker is a native of Lubbock, and she is a
rising sophomore at The University of Texas at Austin, where she is
pursuing a dual bachelor's degree in business and in the Plan II
Honors Program; she is deeply involved in her campus community,
writing for the
Texas Undergraduate Law Journal
and serving on the
judicial and philanthropic committees of her sorority, Zeta Tau
Alpha; moreover, she is an analyst for Longhorn Macro Investors,
which helps UT students learn how to properly invest their savings;
and
WHEREAS, Emme Hocker has performed her duties as a
legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed
deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Emme Hocker for her service as a
legislative intern in the office of State Representative Joanne
Shofner and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success
in all her endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Hocker as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
