R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Jahkil Jackson has been named the recipient of a

Legacy Beyond a Lifetime Award by the Wise Up to Rise Up Foundation,

which is hosting its Winner's Circle 2025 event in Katy on August 2,

2025; and

WHEREAS, The Wise Up to Rise Up Foundation is dedicated to

empowering underserved youth; through mentorship, recognition

programs, motivational events, and creative community

partnerships, it encourages young people to reach their full

potential; its Winner's Circle 2025 event welcomes students from

across both the Katy and the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School

Districts; and

WHEREAS, Now a teenager, Jahkil Jackson established Project I

Am, a nonprofit to address homelessness, when he was eight years

old, after helping his aunt distribute food to Chicago residents in

need; he provided unhoused people with thousands of "Blessing Bags"

filled with granola bars, bottled water, hygiene products, socks,

and other necessities; the organization heightens awareness of the

homelessness issue; to date, it has raised more than $550,000; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Jackson was appointed as a youth ambassador for

Heartland Alliance for Human Needs & Human Rights in 2016; the

following year, he was named to the WE International Youth Council,

and his work benefiting Chicagoans without homes was acknowledged

by the Obama Foundation; and

WHEREAS, In addition to his philanthropy, Mr. Jackson is

active as a public speaker, social entrepreneur, and content

creator, and he is the author of two books; moreover, he has been

invited to participate in the Disney Be Inspired Black history

program, the Lebron James #AlwaysBelieve initiative, and the Nike

Until We All Win and You Can't Stop Our Voice campaigns; and

WHEREAS, Through his accomplishments and contributions,

Jahkil Jackson embodies the ideals of the Wise Up to Rise Up

Foundation, and it is a pleasure to join in recognizing him on this

occasion; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby congratulate Jahkil Jackson on receiving the

Legacy Beyond a Lifetime Award from the Wise Up to Rise Up

Foundation and commend him for participating in the organization's

Winner's Circle 2025 event; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for Mr. Jackson as an expression of high regard by the

Texas House of Representatives.
