H.R. No. 1461
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, August 10, 2024, signaled the beginning of a new
chapter in the lives of Margaret Jean Simmons and Morgan Kyle
Register, for on that day, they embarked on their journey together
as husband and wife; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Simmons and Mr. Register began dating in the
summer of 2018 before their freshman year of college; the couple
became engaged in May 2023, and they exchanged the vows of matrimony
at Saint Patrick Cathedral in downtown Fort Worth the following
year; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of Lane Ann and Jeffery Simmons, Maggie
Simmons attended The University of Texas at Austin, where she
pledged Delta Gamma Fraternity and participated in the Freshman
Research Initiative; after receiving a bachelor's degree in human
development and family sciences, she enrolled in the traditional
nursing program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center,
graduating in December 2024; and
WHEREAS, Morgan Register is the son of Kelly and Ernest
Register; after a year at The University of Texas at Arlington, he
joined Maggie at UT Austin; he earned a bachelor's degree in
government and then obtained a juris doctor degree from Texas Tech
University School of Law in the spring of 2025; and
WHEREAS, The wedding of Maggie Simmons and Morgan Register
marked the beginning of a lifelong journey together, and it is truly
a pleasure to congratulate this devoted couple on their mutual good
fortune in finding one another; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Maggie Simmons and Morgan Register
on their wedding and extend to them sincere best wishes for a
lifetime of happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
