R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Carol and Jeff Zwiener of Austin celebrated their

40th wedding anniversary on March 30, 2025, and they may indeed

reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared;

and

WHEREAS, Dr. and Mrs. Zwiener met on a blind date at Matt's

El Rancho in Austin, and they continued to see each other while Jeff

finished medical school in San Antonio; on March 30, 1985, they

exchanged the vows of matrimony, and over the course of their

marriage, they have found in each other a loving life partner; and

WHEREAS, Carol and Jeff count among their blessings a fine

family that includes their children, Erin, Kristin, Daniel, and

William, as well as their grandchildren, Lark, Kirra, Tres, Wylie,

and Penny, with whom they treasure spending many special occasions;

the couple's current favorite child is their toy schnauzer, Teddy;

as respected members of their community, the couple lived in Irving

and Highland Village before returning to Jeff's hometown of Austin;

both plant enthusiasts, Carol serves as the volunteer florist for

weddings and special events for families and friends and Jeff won

the neighborhood gardening award for his native Texas landscaping;

as lovers of the great outdoors, Carol and Jeff enjoy exploring the

world together including Big Bend National Park (an important place

in their courtship), the Grand Canyon, the Badlands of South

Dakota, Yellowstone National Park, sailing across the Caribbean,

swimming with manatees in Florida, and camping at too many Texas

State Parks to name; the couple shares a passion for athletics, are

avid University of Texas fans, watch everything from golf to tennis

to football together, and both coached their children's soccer,

softball, and baseball teams; they continue to nurture their

relationship with regular date nights at Giovanni's Table and

Buenos Aires Cafe, walks along Barton Creek, building furniture for

family members together, cutthroat card games, and luring rare

songbirds to their backyard; and

WHEREAS, For four decades, Carol and Jeff Zwiener have

brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it

is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now,

therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That Carol and Jeff Zwiener be congratulated on

their 40th wedding anniversary and that they be extended sincere

best wishes for continued happiness.

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby congratulate Carol and Jeff Zwiener on their

40th wedding anniversary.
