R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, The members of the Trinity Valley Community College

cheer team once again reached the pinnacle of success by winning a

division championship at the 2025 National Cheerleaders

Association & National Dance Alliance College Nationals; and

WHEREAS, Joining other top squads from throughout the country

in Daytona, Florida, from April 10 to 12, the Cardinals delivered an

exceptional performance; competing in the Advanced Small Coed

Junior College Division, Trinity Valley held first place in the

preliminary round and went on to triumph in the finals with a total

score of 94.8292, outdistancing its closest competitor by more than

six points; the victory gave the Cardinals their fifth consecutive

NCA title and 16th overall, and they also clinched the silver medal

in the Advanced Large Coed Junior College Division with a score of

93.0542; and

WHEREAS, In earning a national division crown, the Cardinals

received valuable contributions from each member of the roster;

these talented and dedicated student-athletes benefited from the

able guidance of co-head coaches Vontae Johnson and Khris Franklin

and their staff; and

WHEREAS, Through hard work and exceptional skill, the members

of the TVCC Cardinal cheer team have furthered the program's

tradition of excellence, and they are a source of tremendous pride

to their fellow students and their many supporters in the Athens

community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby congratulate the Trinity Valley Community

College cheer team on winning the Advanced Small Coed Junior

College Division championship at the 2025 NCA & NDA College

Nationals and extend to all those associated with the squad sincere

best wishes for continued success; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas

House of Representatives.
