H.R. No. 1544

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Mark Chavez has distinguished himself in his

responsibilities as a policy aide in the office of State

Representative Vincent Perez during the 89th Legislative Session;

and

WHEREAS, Since joining the staff as a fellow in the

Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program, Mr. Chavez has

provided vital assistance in a wide variety of tasks, including

conducting legislative research, communicating with constituents,

preparing policy briefs and reports for Representative Perez, and

monitoring committee hearings; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Chavez is completing his bachelor's degree in

criminal justice and communications at The University of Texas at

El Paso and aspires to pursue a master's degree at the Lyndon B.

Johnson School of Public Affairs in the fall of 2026; he also holds

an associate degree from El Paso Community College, which he earned

prior to completing high school; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Chavez has carried out his duties as a

legislative aide and policy analyst with skill and dedication and

is indeed deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now,

therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby commend Mark Chavez for his outstanding service

as a legislative aide in the office of State Representative Vincent

Perez and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in

all his future endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for Mr. Chavez as an expression of high regard by the Texas

House of Representatives.
