H.R. No. 369

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, The State of Israel has confirmed the return of the

remains of four of its citizens, Shiri Bibas, her sons Ariel and

Kfir Bibas, and Oded Lifshitz, who were tragically killed while

being held in captivity by Hamas; and

WHEREAS, These innocent lives were lost through acts of

unspeakable cruelty, and the deaths are deeply felt not only by the

victims' families and by the people of Israel but by all who stand

against terrorism and violence; and

WHEREAS, Shiri Bibas was 32 years old when she was abducted

from her home in Kibbutz Nir Oz in southern Israel on October 7,

2023, along with Ariel, age four, and Kfir, who was just nine months

old; her husband and the children's father, Yarden Bibas, was also

taken captive in the Hamas attack; he was released on February 1,

2025; and

WHEREAS, Oded Lifshitz was 83 years old at the time he was

abducted by Hamas militants in Kibbutz Nir Oz, and his life was

unjustly taken from him while being held prisoner; he leaves behind

his wife, Yocheved Lifshitz, who was kidnapped on the same day and

released on October 24, 2023; and

WHEREAS, While no words can fully heal the suffering caused

by this horrific tragedy, we offer our heartfelt condolences to the

surviving loved ones of those who were killed, and we affirm the

determination that we share with the Israeli people to stand strong

against the threat of terrorism; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby pay tribute to the lives of Shiri Bibas, Ariel

Bibas, Kfir Bibas, and Oded Lifshitz and extend deepest sympathy to

their families and to all who mourn their passing.
